I knock a new bat for hours with a wooden mallet(doing a W-hit position), sometimes use a cricket ball with a sock and knock it. My old RNS bat turned out very good and retained with nice sweetspots, good drives for many seasons. I followed the same process on my SS and few other ones that I purchased in the last 2 years. Nothing came out as good as the way RNS turned-out. I can understand its the wood thats causing it.

Has anybody adapt different technique that work well for them? If so, on what kinda bats have you done and what was the result?
