These days in addition to players, team skils/talent these additional elements in Pitch and Day/Night game dew factor continue to play prominent key role in winning the toss. Especially in Test match playing in 5th day is considerably a nightmare where scoring even a 100 odd is difficult on pitch that cracked up. In my opinion team/players ability be leveled more than these pitch conditions. Like Tennis cricket should be played in varying surfaces to make things interesting and even. If playing traditional clay/grass mixture is a synonym to wimbledon, imagine a flat concrete surface with specially made cricket balls like US/Australian open. Like Federer struggle on Clay courts it could be that Australia may struggle on a concrete pitch and others may leverage that. What others think? |

Yes, obviously. The problem is that defining a "good" cricket pitch is tricky. It should offer something to both batsmen and bowlers. But nowadays, the organizers tend to prefer batsmen-friendly pitches to make it easier to score runs. |

naach na jaane - aangan teda. The blokes who cannot play cricket - always blame it on the pitch. I'd say pitch conditions are immaterial. Software adapts, Engineers Adapt, we all Adapt, Why not International Players?? Here's a proposition to Brett Lee(Aussie) - I am Mr.X. Please bown underarm to me and ensure you aim correct at my bat, that way it's right on the path of my swing. I'll hit a SIXER every ball. If there is a 24'er I'd do that too. Here' what I got to say to all the Sissys who complain about THE PITCH at international level - "MAN UP GUYS" The millions you make is worth SOMETHING. Show some adaptability. Give me my moneys worth. |

We won't be able to see any the pitches supporting bowlers and batsmen equally today. As the Boards of cricket wants to market the cricket as a product they wants give a grant feast for the spectators. Spectators feast will be always scoring at a rate of 6. Obviously those pitches will be more supporting batmen rather than bowlers. Also in most series the home team will be preparing pitch supporting the home team. |
